About Us

The Canadian Cadet Organization is a national program for Canadian youth aged 12-18. The aims of the program are promoting leadership, physical fitness, community service and stimulate an interest in the Canadian Armed Forces. This program helps to prepare Canadian youth to become leaders within their communities. They develop a sense of responsibility, accountability and acquire leadership skills along with a positive work ethic that will help them throughout their futures. The cadets are engaged in community events to support local projects and developments throughout the year, providing them the tools to develop into a well-rounded, respectable member of society.

Biathlon

The Biathlon team competes in zone competitions (and perhaps provincial competitions) where they combine running 3kms and shooting in a 10M range with Air Rifles.

Community Service

An important component of Cadets is to be active in supporting the community.  Our squadron has been able help with community clean-ups, toy drives, poppy sales, Remembrance Day Ceremonies, and Legion Events.

Drill

Left, Left, Left, Right, Left!!  Drill is a important part of training.  Every member needs to work together to move in unison through complex patterns.  Cadets learn basic drill commands on parade nights but can also push themselves to excel in the more structured Drill Team.

Effective Speaking

Learn how to organize and present ideas, information and opinions in a clear manner.   You train along side your fellow cadets and then work individually on creating a strong speech to present.  This is a great way to build confidence!

Marksmanship

The cadets program teaches youth about proper use and safe handling of firearms.  The concept of high accuracy helps to push our teams to always improve themselves and help each other through range days and competitions.

Pipe & Drum Band

Our squadron has both a military and pipe band.  Cadets have the option to learn from a variety of instruments including Bag pipes, Drums, Brass, and Wind.  Any music level is welcome!

Survival Training

Work as a team and learn how to build shelters, snares, ground to air signals, first aid and much more.
